Yes. Manila Mail Manager runs entirely in your browser. Your emails are never sent to any external server — all scanning and processing happens locally on your device.
The extension needs access to Gmail to scan your inbox for subscription emails. It reads sender names, subjects, and dates from your inbox view — it never reads the body of your messages.
When you click unsubscribe, Manila Mail opens the sender's unsubscribe page or their most recent email so you can confirm. Pro users can select multiple subscriptions and unsubscribe from all of them at once.
It hides that sender inside Manila Mail Manager: they drop out of your subscription list, stop being counted in your stats, and lose their Gmail badge. Nothing changes about your actual mail — you stay subscribed, the sender isn't blocked, and their emails keep arriving in Gmail as normal. It's for newsletters you want to keep but don't want flagged. Ignoring covers the whole brand, so a company's other sending addresses go quiet too. To undo it, open Subscriptions, switch the filter to Ignored, and hit Restore — your history for that sender comes back with it.
It's a one-click tidy: every subscription email in the list you're looking at folds out of view, leaving the mail from real people. It's a view filter and nothing more — those emails aren't archived, deleted, marked read or moved, and Gmail itself is untouched. Tap the wand again to bring them all back, or open the counter next to it to see exactly what's hidden and unhide individual emails. Anything you hide comes back on its own when you switch labels, search, or reload Gmail. It's free, and you can turn the button off in Settings if you'd rather not see it.
Yes. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time — manage it from the extension's settings or through the receipt Paddle emails you. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your billing period, after which the extension returns to the free tier on its own.
Three. A Chrome profile counts as one device, so a work laptop, a home machine and a second profile all fit. If you run out — say after a reinstall or a new laptop — open Settings in the extension and choose Deactivate my other devices, then activate the one you're using. Sharing a key beyond that doesn't work: the fourth activation is refused.
Only occasionally. Activating Pro checks in with our licensing service, and the extension re-checks quietly in the background. If it can't reach us — offline, or a firewall in the way — Pro keeps working for three more days so an outage never locks you out.
Currently Manila Mail Manager only works with Gmail. Support for other email providers may come in the future.
