Your email content never leaves your browser. All scanning and subscription detection happens locally on your device. The only network requests the extension makes are to our licensing service — for free trials, Pro checkout, and license verification — and those requests never include email content.
Subscription detection runs locally in your browser as you use Gmail. We do not collect, store, or transmit your email content to any external server.
If you start a free trial or subscribe to Pro, the extension contacts our licensing service (hosted on Cloudflare Workers). These requests contain only a randomly generated visitor ID, a randomly generated installation ID, your chosen plan, your extension version, and — for license checks — your license key or subscription ID. They never contain email content, sender lists, or anything derived from your inbox.
The installation ID is what limits a Pro subscription to three devices: we store the installation IDs currently using your subscription, plus when each was first and last seen, so a fourth device can be turned away and so you can release your other devices yourself from the extension's settings. The ID is generated randomly in your browser, identifies a browser installation rather than a person, and is reset if you clear the extension's data or reinstall it.
All of this data is stored in Chrome's local storage on your device and is never uploaded. If you activate Pro, your license key (a signed token that contains no personal information) is also saved to Chrome's sync storage, so Chrome may sync it across browsers signed into your Google profile.
When you unsubscribe from a sender, the extension opens that sender's own unsubscribe page (or the original email) in a new tab so you can confirm directly with them. This happens entirely between your browser and the sender — it never passes through any Manila Mail Manager server.
Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not store credit card numbers or billing details. Paddle handles all payment processing under their own privacy policy.
Manila Mail Manager does not collect any usage analytics or telemetry. Beyond the licensing requests described above, we have no visibility into how you use the extension.
You can delete all stored data at any time from Settings > Data > Clear All Data. Uninstalling the extension also removes all local data.
Under GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and similar privacy laws, you have rights to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. Because your subscription data lives on your own device, you can exercise these rights directly: view or export it via Settings, or clear it via Settings or uninstall. Our licensing service keeps only the minimal records needed to honor trials and subscriptions (visitor ID, installation IDs, license and subscription identifiers); email support@manilamail.app to have those deleted.
Manila Mail Manager is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children; the only data we hold about anyone is the minimal licensing records described above.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
